Leave it plugged in with the switch on.

You can leave it plugged in and leave the switch on.

I only unplug it in case of a thunderstorm.

I only switch off the PSU and unplug if I am working on the PC or I'm going to be away from home for a day or more and bad weather is expected.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
