So I finally managed to get my hands on an RTX 3080, I installed it in my system and then it powered on with fans and led lights but no signal. I thought maybe my current 650W power supply was not powerful enough so I upgraded to the Corsair SF750. Same problem again 😭. I then reinstalled my old GPU and now it won't boot either. I have tried all the basic troubleshooting like in the thread..., removing ram, clearing CMOS, no GPU, minimum parts etc, even rebuilt it outside the case but to no avail. The error LEDs are not coming on either. My monitor is working with my laptop. I have a feeling that my motherboard is dead. Is there anything else I should take into consideration?

Specs

------------

R5 3600 with stock cooler

ASUS ROG b450-i motherboard

G.skill trident neo 3600 32GB

Old PSU (650w included with inwin A1 case)

New PSU (Corsair sf750)

Old GPU: RX 5700xt

New GPU: MSI rtx 3080 gaming X trio

Windows does not like new parts. It is one of the best adapting software but it still doesnt like it. That is the reason why a reinstall is recomended everytime you change hardware. Yes your motherboard could be dead, perhaps you have been too rough with replacing it? But if you are able to get into the bios (does it give any screens?) I would reinstall windows first. If you dont see any screens, try to put the GPU in another slot (perhaps try both GPU's). If it does not give any screens, i would say your motherboard is the reason why.

He's said a couple of times now the computer doesn't post.

My only suggestion is to reseat the CPU and ram and see if either of those things help. If none of that works, and all your connections are plugged in correctly and firmly, then your hypothesis that the mobo died seems as good any to me.
