yes it should work.

don't know how many sata connectors you have available, but that could be the only issue

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

The 970 is a m.2 ssd.

yes but on some motherboards the m.2 uses the same lanes as some of the sata drives,

have seen that quite often here when people are wondering why they can't find their new drive.
