3060ti - compatible with linux ?

I have linux on a bootable USB, however since installing my 3060ti the only resolution I can set is 1024x768 which is awful on a 43" TV.

If I were to install it to my Hard drive, would I be able to change the res. ?

That's because you are using the open-source driver, which doesn't yet support RTX 30 - series. You'd need to install the NVIDIA proprietary driver for proper support.

I don't remember where, But I'm sure I read somewhere the 3060ti is only compatible with windows and 3070 and up is compatible with linux and windows 

I don't think changing the location of install will change the res

Surely if it was incompatible it wouldn't boot at all ?

That's what I'm not getting 

Perhaps driver updates to support the full res aren't available yet 

Maybe try on virtualbox

Installed the drivers, works fine now
