Hi guys
So i wanted to ask what can i do with my HDD cuz i am out of ideas.
When i want to play some games that demand a lot of cpu and gpu power (i think XD) after an hour of me playing these game my pc suddenly freezes and the only thing i can do is restart it. I used HD tune pro to see if any of the sectors are bad and they were all good but when i looked at the health site it said (C7) interface crc error 94
so after seeing this message i pulled up crystaldiskinfo and it said that everything's ok so i really don't know who should i trust.
Also today i saw a post that said it can only be a SATA cabel so i really don't know what to do. (Btw my pc is around 10 years old so i know that i should expect these kinds of errors but i didn't have any problem with this before i got a upgrade from FX-6100 to FX-8350)

Also i've been thinking if my gpu isn't the problem here cuz i had almost identical problem back when i was first trying out valorant i could play for like an 1 or 1.5h and then my pc would freeze up and i couldn'T do anything other than to restart my pc.

I am really loosing my mind with this shiz so thanks in advance to those that will reply.

could be age, could be cabling.  If you do not have locking sata cables, I would get some, both power and the data side

Also if i would buy the new cabeling does it matter if the cabel says SATA III but my mb is only SATA II ? (ye my mb is that fucking old and cheap)

Overheating perhaps?

I know those old AMD FX CPUs ran insanely hot

i had hwmonitor up while gaming and in witcher 3 on ultra i ran something around 75 if i remember correctly.

I thought that was really wierd cuz with the ''better'' cpu i also got a noctua cpu cooler and also arctic mx-2 thermal paste

and with my old fx 6100 i had something around that too with some shiz cooler and 5 year old paste if i remember correctly

also with the ''better'' cpu the usage is jumping from 4ghz to 1.3 and then jumps back up and does this a lot while gaming.

I"m not generally impressed by that software when it comes to hard drive health. I've had it pass drives I *knew* were bad.

I prefer DiskGenius.

https://www.diskgenius.com/

The only drawback to it, is the UI is comewhat complex, and it'll happily wipe your drive if you are careless.

Nonetheless, it'll do a  sector by sector in-depth scan of your drive and tell you what's going on with it.

Just make sure you don't choose the "repair" option. Verify only. Post back results.

And it might simply be your system, being on the 10 year old side of things, is quietly going out. System have a shelf-life...

If we are talking a hard lock here, where the keyboard/mouse stops responding at all, that's a hardware failure, but let's start with the health of your drive 1st.

Ok, so the hard drive isn't bad, now, you still may have issues with the mobo, and you can try to replace the SATA cables, but to be honest I don't think that will change anything.

Look in your Even Viewer and the subsection for System, and see if you see any red ! or Yellow Triangles that might be relevant to your issues.

alright so i looked that up and basicaly it says that the: system has restarted without being completly truned off. This error can be caused that the system has stopped reacting, failed or a sudden electricity drop.

I get a 404 on that image

Yeah, all that says is "hey! Someone turned off the power!" which we know, because you did it.

Are there any other Red ! marks in the even viewer system section, that might provide some more insight?

Yeah. In the absence of any obvious signs, I'm going to have to say the age of the system is a contributing factor to these issues. We can throw money at it all day, replacing this and that to try to solve it, but given the age of the platform, the money would be better off spent on a new system.

Yeah i was thinking about getting a new system but still i wanted to try everything possible.

And well when we're on the topic of a new system as i said i have a 1060 6gb and i don't know what is the best cpu i can pair with this gpu.

So if u have any idea what is the best cpu for this gpu then please tell me.

(Also i would rather have an AMD cpu)

I know very little about Ryzens. I have one a Ryzen 5 2600 with a 1050 Ti and it's okay, but I prefer my twin Xeon workstation.

I think in this case, you'd be better off asking a new question on a good paring with your GFX card,
