Upgrading my PC

First time PC builder here (upgrader). I am about to upgrade my PC from the following specs:

- i5-3570k

- MSI Z77 MPower Big Bang

- 8 GB DDR3

 

To the following:

- Ryzen 5 5600X

- MSI Tomahawk X570 WiFi 

- 16 GB DDR4

 

I have a Phanteks CPU cooler in my current setup. It is a big one with two towers and two fans. Will this cooler work on my new setup as well? Is there anything I should keep in mind when doing the upgrade? I am using the same case, a Corsair Carbite case. Is this fine? Just looking for some do's and don'ts.

You'll need to order new mounting hardware for the cooler.

A case is a case more-or-less. You could get one with better airflow but honestly it's unlikely to make a massive difference.

I'd consider replacing your PSU depending on how old it is, and what type.

I am replacing the current Corsair GS800, with a Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 W.
