For a budget build, i was thinking about getting an apu because i could shave off some money from not using a graphics card. And I did, but this cpu is damn 28nm, and i really want like 12nm. Also, I want a cooler with it too. Some sacrifices must be made, i know, so cooler is optional.

well, there's a bit more to it than that. What you want is Ryzen for sure, if this is a gaming PC.

buying used would be a concern for that, but buying new, every CPU will have an included cooler.

A Ryzen 3 2200G would be the minimum, with a Ryzen 5 3400G being the most powerful APU you could get. There are also the 4th gen Ryzen APUs but they're not super easy to find since there aren't any retail listings, it's only on the used market.

edit:

if that build above is a new parts list you're trying to make, consider this instead:

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

That a8 cpu is gonna suck, its really old now, not using zen, and $180 is way to much for that chip

Also that are some weird choises there. Id save money on the case, that wifi card seems way to much, a ax200 based chip should be around $30-40 bucks and better than that card.

Id get one larger ssd, here.

For that budget, get a seprate cpu + gpu, you can easily do that in a 800 dollar build, and it will be much faster.

I'm not really looking for zen 2, and I chose that case because my mom said she wanted a better one than a 4000D, which is what i had in the list.

I don't need much storage, what i have should suit me for my workload.

It seems to me though that i can't ge the other features that i want with a seperate cpu and gpu.

might as well get a zen+ cpu, cheaper and faster, better in all ways

For that budget, your really giving up a lot of computer power for the case, id really try to get a 50-60 dollar case so you can have a much faster system

So why have the 250+500gb setup? The 1tb would be cheaper, simpler and give you more space.

What other features do you want? What are you using this build for?

Roblox, watching YouTube, and some productivity.

I can't think of an example off the top of my head, I just know that I usually can't find what i want in the price range i want.

so get something like a i3 10100 then, Should be enough gpu for roblox, much faster cpu, and cheaper.

Almost my whole workload doesn't need Ryzen, really just some old apu.

that a8 makes no sens, its way to pricey at $180, and very slow for modern standards. don't get it.

I guess I might, but the reason I didn't want to go with Intel is because of their upgradability. What about a 3400G?

You don't really know about future parts, but am4 looks to be end of the line, but lga 1200 probably will work with rocket lake. So intel seems a bit better now, but it also really depends on the board you get. You can't run zen 2 or zen 3 on that a320 board.

Id get a 10100 over a 3400g as its a bit faster of a cpu and cheaper. For the savings you can buy a gpu if you need more gpu power.

I'd say get a RX 570 or a RX 580 for 100-130$ used and keep this cpu for now.

You'll get better performance in games compared to just using integrated graphics - rather than playing at 720p med or 1080p low at best with integrated graphics you can play 1080p med-high in most games with a rx570/rx580

New processors are now are both hard to get and expensive.

suck it up and later when you have more money (let's say 6 months from now), sell the cpu AND motherboard together as advertised as  office pc / parents pc / programming only pc  and put some difference and get a 5600 and a b550 motherboard.
