HI,

I recently got a Asus rog Strix B550- F gaming mobo and with it a samsung 970 evo m.2 500gb which I installed windows on so want some more storage. Is it ok to use both of the m2 slots on my mobo if I get another 1tb m.2 ssd and the speeds will be ok? Or should I go with a sata ssd 1Tb? Also if I do get another m.2 my mobo only came with one screw is the other one already on the mobo or do I need to order one.

Any questions please ask

Thanks

Just now, Electronics Wizardy said:

Yea a second m.2 will work fine. It will run at gen 3 speeds, but since you already have one gen 3 ssd it won't make a difference speed wise.

Yeah they will both be gen 3 speeds, thankyou! Just wanted to check do I need to buy another scew for it or is it already on the mobo? only was came in the box.

You should go with a 4TB sata HDD instead an additional SSD.

Secondary drive is rarely active, unlike boot drive, good for long term storage.
