hello

i just got a new pc with this

Procesor - Intel 4770k

Procesor Cooler - Corsair h100i

Case - Corsair Carbide 300r Windowed

Motherboard MSI G45 - gaming

Video Card - Asus GTX770 Dual CU OC edition

Power Supply -  CS650m Corsair 80 Plus Gold

RAM - Kingstone Hyperx Red CL9 8gb 4x2 1600

HDD - WD Blue Caviar 7200 RPM 64mb Cache 1TB

2 problems

1. RAM speed in system is 1333 - from what i read i have to set the speed in bios.

2. after an hour .....since boot the RAM is working almost at 100% and i cannot use it, i try to close all apps and the ram is still 98%-100%

i am using windows 8.1 and the ram modules was in slot 1,2 and i thanged them to 2,4(motherboard manual)

is there a hardware problem with the ram module or motherboard? or it will fix after i will set the clock? should not...

please help?

Put your ram in slots 2 and 4.

ok

1. its not uncommon for ram speeds to change its just the motherboard lowering the clock on it so just go into the bios and set it back

2. try another ram or try the ram in another pc if possible

3. if nothing can solve the 100% load issue RMA it

use the quote button if you want me to get back to you

High memory usage can be an OS issue with a memory leak as well.

If it is new then let windows update do its thing and update as many times as it needs. If the memory usage is still high then you need to use resource manager to find what is using all of your ram.

Run a memtest on each ram stick individually that will make it easier to identify a bad ram stick.

I think guys said already, but make sure the memory DIMMs are installed in the color coded slots, run Memtest86 for some time. Memtest is usually somewhere in the BIOS. The memory is at 1333MHz by default, all motherboards do this, it's just for safety and good stability. If you want to run the memory at 1600MHz, it shouldn't be that hard, you should set the memory frequency to 1600MHz and the memory voltage to the voltage written on the memory sticks, or on the package. If you get errors (blue screens), search the Internet for some tutorials.

i clocked the ram to 1600 and i used chrome with 10 tabs around 2 hours, skype than diablo 3 for 3 hours and than ran 6 memtest each with 1024 mb to scan for about 30 minutes(the cpu was at 98% usage and ran at 42 degree celsius and the ram was at 100%) and after i stoped them all was ok, last time i did this my pc stucked and was not usable and had to force restart it.

i think it's ok now :)

can someone tell me where i can test the ram in bios? because i cannot find any topic on web or in bios...motherboard Z87 g45 gaming from msi

thank you.

Well, if you can't find the memory tester in the BIOS, it's not the end of the world. You can use Prime95 (you can download the application on the internet), and you can use that instead.

For the settings you will need to test your memory properly, check out Linus's video  :)

Glad your rig works fine!
