Hello! Recently, I've swapped out the thermal paste in my Omen 15-dc1047nl with liquid metal, and while the thermals have definitely improved, one weird "issue" has come up. When turning on, idle or during light tasks (i.e. internet browsing) only the right fan is spinning, while the left fan is motionless, despite the fact that the left side of the computer is noticeably warm; temperatures seem to be perfectly within the norm, around 35 deg Celsius for the CPU. When i start heavier tasks, such as gaming, both fans start up and work as intended, and temps are very much under control, thanks to the aforementioned liquid metal. What could be the cause? Is it even a problem?

It could be a setting that only one fan spins if the temperatures are low enough. This happens for Desktop GPUs, so I assume this could be the same for your HP Omen.

That was my initial hypothesis, but i think i remember hearing both fans spin up when turning on and during idle, could just be the LM doing its job very well and lowering the temperatures enough.

yeah probably, lots of PC part fans boot up first then turn off.
