Hey

I have a problem with my new pc build. Still waiting for a 3080 gpu, so I borrowed my brothers rx 570 for a while. But when I turn in the pc there is no output. I tried my other older gpu, and it worked just fine. Installed windows and all that. Then I became afraid I had broken the rx 570 or something, so I tried it in my older pc, and it works. I then tried it again in my new pc and it dosent work. Ive tried it in both slots, and tried different hdmi and displayport and its just no output at all. It lights up and the fans spin just fine. My older gpu is kinda broken so I cant use that anyway. Can anybody help?

Hey!

Did you install drivers for the rx 570? Also if there was a card in before it with drivers, you would need to uninstall the drivers, and then once the new card is in you need to install the new drivers, hope this helps.

I havent installed any drivers yet. Shouldnt it then just use the basic windows drivers and work fine?

If the system is new, and has NO drivers installed on the drive, then it will just use the basic windows drivers. But if there are drivers from a different gpu, you would need to install the gpu for those drivers, delete the drivers, and then install the new card.

Seeing as the GPU is the only thing not working when installed, this is probably a bad GPU or it's not playing nicely with the components. A hail mary might be that the cable going from the monitor doesn't like that your GPU, so you could try a different cable. But if that doesn't work and you don't have another system to confirm the GPU works, there's not much you can do but say the GPU is bad.

Drivers shouldn't cause a blackscreen boot, the system works without one installed, and you have proper connections.
