XMP Profile not running

Go to solution Solved by Tristerin,

Id try both individual kits in slots 2nd and 4th away from the CPU socket and if both of those post with XMP no problem using only the main dual channel slots, but wont reach the advertised speeds when using all 4 slots, Id RMA the board potentially.

BUT NOT before I checked to see if my BIOS was up to date.  You do NOT want an unstable system before updating BIOS.  So try the 2 sticks only, or single stick in 2nd slot away from the CPU and ensure stability before BIOS update.  BIOS updates add agesa code which helps with ram compatibility.

I listed below my parts list for my first real gaming pc build. I've tried enabling the "XMP profile" but get the blue screen until I set it back to Disabled. I've also tried setting the voltage and timings first with my limited or better described as non-existent computer background, but still no luck. I don't know if it makes a difference but I used two 2x8gb sets of identical Ram instead of buying a 4x8gb or 2x16gb because I like the look of all the slots filled and Newegg was having a sale.

Anyone else experiencing this or know how I can fix this?

Parts list:

  • Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite Wifi
  • Ryzen 9 5900x
  • 2X Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16gb(2x8gb) 3600(PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 CAS Latency 18 CMW16GX4M2D3600C18
  • GIGABYTE AORUS Gen4 M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4, NVMe 1.3 3D TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) GP-AG41TB
  • AMD Radeon 6800XT (XFX)
  • Corsair H150I Elite Capellix
  • Maingear 1200W Ignition 80 Platinum
  • Corsair 465X RGB White Case

I had the BIOS Flashback done by Microcenter to run the 5900x 5 days ago. Should I still be worried about updating BIOS?

I tried the two pairs and XMP worked with both sets. I guess next step is to update BIOS and if that doesn't work, RMA the board or get a new one altogether?

EDIT: Looked up the BIOS version and it seems to be the most recent from Gigabyte?

I should have dug in deeper the first time - your board only supports 3200mhz on the motherboard memory controller.  CPU memory controller should have no problem with 3600mhz. At least that is what the manual says.

The website states with Ryzen 5000 it supports up to 4266mhz.

The most current revision of the BIOS is F30?  Problem is, Im either being an idiot, or just plain cant even find the gigabyte download page for BIOS updates.

I was able to find that F31 on https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/X570-AORUS-ELITE-WIFI-rev-1x/support#support-dl

I really appreciate all the help!
