I'm looking at RAM for a Ryzen processor and don't know what it means when it says first word latency. Can someone explain this and tell me if these two ram kits are very different. I kind of want a little light on my sticks and I'm wondering if this is a tradeoff not worth it.

The G.Skill set is faster than the Corsair set in this case, because the G.Skill set has a lower latency (of 16).

The true latency in ns (nanoseconds) is derived from the speed (3600Mhz in this case) and the latency (18 on the Corsair set, 16 on the G.Skill set).

You want the latency as low as possible and speed as high as possible.

The G.Skill set would get some more performance in many uses (including, but not limited to: gaming, video editing, photo editing, etc.).
