If you have 2gb of ddr3 ram get some more ram! I'm assuming that you mistyped that!

ah yes some typo, well i don't wanna to open this laptop because of the frames of it is broke apart and it closes the access for the screwhole, and also i have a similar setup which is my main station, it runs more apps than my laptop and have the same ram, but less CPU core, and it also run pretty smoothly. well i'll try to add more ram

-> Moved to Laptops and Pre-Build Systems

You give too little info to help you. Like what OS? If you have 64bit OS, I would say get 32bit instead. Those are for the systems with less than 4gb of RAM. For example just 64bit Win10 alone uses over 1gig of RAM.

Also what are the other systems specs and OS if things are better on it?

so my choice is either getting more RAM or downgrading my system to 32 bit ?, i would say i'll pick RAM, since not only it's not affecting my data, but also saving time

Reinstall windows, and dont use a weird antivirus. Just use windows defender, it works fine.

Quarantining it should effectively stop it from working.

As far as downloading more viruses, where'd you get that one?

Or you could try installing Lubuntu, better option for older hardware.

i guess i also need more RAM, sadly it only have 1 SODIMM slot

Installing something lighter than windows is a good alternative if you arent able to buy an upgrade.

the problem is, this is my dad laptop. he got a new laptop from his office, and then he gave me his old laptop. when i checked it, everything seems okay and there is a lot of windows file on there that my dad wants to keep, it was like a fucking ton. so that is why i rather choose ram than changin my OS

Gotcha, hope you can get a RAM upgrade then.

Seriously, backup those files elsewhere, get an SSD if you already don't and get a lighter OS. Adding some RAM won't solve your problem, at best it makes it a tiny bit more bearable, but chances are not even that..
