windows 10 64 bit performance questions

hello, members i have a few simple questions if i have enough available C.P.U. cores can windows allocate or use more than 4? and can it dedicate system processes to specific cores if i had some crazy 64 core CPU. the other question is, is there a limit of how much ram can be used just by the system (not apps and programs but just the os with gui).

the other question i have is there a way  i could have a dedicated monitor to display system status (resource use, CPU temp, other statistics and telemetry) with a section with an un-minimizable task manager?

Thanks

Yea, depends on the edition, but they all support 64 cores on win 10

Yup, and varies with editions. Its a good amount though(128gb on home)

Just put those programs on that display? Then do other things on your other monitors.

Yes.

The scheduler in Windows decides which threads get worked on by which cores (to an extent). Short of tweaking with process affinity, there's no way to know which cores a process will run on. Though there is some theorizing that Windows prefers Core 0 to run certain things on.

Windows has artificial limts (128GB as @Electronics Wizardy said), but a generic 64-bit system can go up to approx 264 bytes, or 18.4467441 exabytes (thank you, Google).

Maximize Task Manager on the monitor you'd like it on, then go to Options and check "Always on Top" and uncheck "Minimize on Use". It's not perfect (still will minimize with Win+D), but it's decent. Otherwise, you could use something like Rainmeter to put the relevant stats right on that monitor's desktop.
