How would you compare the 70x and sony 7506? Which one is brighter, and does the 70x offer more detail? Also I think I like smaller soundstage, I like the in your ear small driver that the sonys have at times. Also with eq how close could the 50x get to the 70x in sound? What's different about the 70x besides sound signature, is it a different beast all together under the hood? The msr7 is cheaper and you say it's better, might look into that one more.

So I don't have any right now.to do a proper side by side. Is the 7506 is slightly sharper on specific frequencies especially the high hats were too present. But the mids are fine and the lower mids aren't shouty like the m70x. I also remember the 7506 having a better bass response but that's just characteristic of Sony headphones. The 70x may offer more detail than 7506 but I can't quite handle the treble response on it. The msr7 offers clarity and bright treble but when paired with good well produced  music its pretty great. Sucks paired with lo Fi stuff though as it highlights all the pops and crackles

I like the brightness of the sony 7506s for a lot of my music, I switch between that and 50xs. It seems the 70xs are sharp accurate headphones and I like the sharpness/accuracy a lot on some of my songs so I was wondering if the 70xs would be something worth saving for and would give me more sharpness and accuracy or if it won't really effect my listening experience noticably and is only for analytical stuff. Also I hear the m40xs are like the 50xs but with less bass/more neutral, how do those compare to the 70xs? I don't do any production or audio work I just listen to music so if the 70xs won't make my songs sound noticeably better/sharper compared to the sonys or 40xs then I won't bother.  I listen to rock and some metalish songs I care a lot about vocals as well as choruses Not a ton my my songs are bass heavy I don't think so at least. Also I use 256 kbs mp3s from amazon.

M70x are much more similar to the 50x neither to me are enjoyable very sharp. The 40x is neutral leaning on smooth similar imaging and soundstage to both. Personally imo the best audio Technica that leans on neutral but has great clarity detail retention without being too sharp is the msr7 but if you want more sharpness the m70x is probably made for you. To me the m70x sounds both sharp and shouty and very pulled back mids and pretty bad bass decay after the midbass region.

I use 256 kbs mp3s hopefully nice headphones wont be bottlenecked, everything I have now sounds fine with them. I would buy 320 kbs but google shut down its mp3 store so amazon is the only game in town now and I dont feel like buying and ripping like 50 cds, some of which I would only like a few songs on. probably won't get the 70x, the msr7 looks more appealing and cheaper and I would probably use it more, like I said I only like bright/harsh headphones on some songs, which is why I switch between the sonys and 50xs. I'm definitely not a fan of those super bass heavy headphones, when I turn on bass booster it downs out vocals, the eqs that increase brightness play nicer with a lot of my my music.

Spotify premium, tidal hifi, qobuz are all good options if you can afford them.

Also keep in mind I tend to really dislike alot of harsher brighter headphones and have a major dislike of the m50x myself so our tastes do not really match so please take that when taking my opinion.

I bought all my songs so I could leave streaming lol, I tried the free trial of tidal and I could maybe tell a small diffence, I could always just get cds of my favorite stuff that I listen to most and rip them if I need higher quality flac files. And yea, I guess I have a weird taste in sound, thanks for the advice tho helped a lot.
