i7 or i9 tells very little. the first number (or 2 sometimes) tells the generation with each better than the last. the last 3 numbers tell you its performance with higher numbers being better. This can get you a rough idea but I would look up benchmarks of different laptops to see which would best suit you.

The processor seems a bit weak to me especially for 4k footage.

thats a lot of ram but you might be using it. 16gb should be plenty though

ssd = good

240hz on a laptop? dont think your gonna be doing esports level gaming on it so unless you specifically want it its unnecessary

id go for something at least 9700 / 10700 or for amd 3700 / 5700

shop around for a bit more and tell me what you come up with. Also let me know if you need me to explain any of those number it can be kind of confusing at first 😛

OUTDATED JAN 2021 ===========> Check out my pc building guide! might be useful tho

It's great for planning new builds, getting a reference on where to start, or seeing what you need to play what games.

It also shows what I recommend for upgrading your stuff!

cpu - ryzen 5 3600

gpu - gtx 1070

ram - (2x8) 3200mhz

ssd - 970 evo plus 500gb

ssd2 - 860 qvo 1tb

mobo - asrock b450m hdv r4.0

psu - evga b5 550w bronze

I wouldn't go for this laptop at all. A xmg core 15 with a amd 4800h and rtx 2060 refresh is faster in every which way and better whilst also being far more portable. The 4800h flat out beats the i9 in every task because the xmg has such great cooling it can run at desktop speeds making it so you effectively have a desktop 3700x in a laptop without an issue. Then the rtx 2060 refresh has faster memory and is allowed to run at up to 115w which means it can run a fair bit faster than the limited clockspeeds on a 2070 max q and beats it in everything (only part where the 2070 is a tiny bit better is ray tracing but it's too weak to game in ray tracing anyways).

So basically avoid the legion and get the xmg. If it has to be the legion skip the i9 the legion can't keep it under control with temps. Also the screen of the legion isn't great for colour accurate video's the xmg is far better in this regard.

Does it have to be a laptop too? This thing is far from a budget laptop.
