Hey, so currently I am looking to buy a new GPU, I have a list of options and prices in my country(Slovakia) currently and also gonna buy VR headset later as well so I just want it to be ready for future. I am playing on 1080p, now I have 1060 6GB so newer games doesn't run much at 60FPS+. It needs to be Nvidia GPU because I have monitor with G-Sync

I was looking at these GPUs:    which one would you recommend? and why?
RTX 2080 Ti is going at marketplace for 600€ to 700€

RTX 3060 Ti is going new from 500€ to 600€ and marketplace same

RTX 3070 is going new from 650€ to 800€ and marketplace same

RTX 3080 is going at marketplace for 900€ to 1100€, I couldn't find how much is for a new one so I guess its similar to marketplace ones.

Also I have a question about my PSU, now its 700W Cooler Master model RS-700-ACAB-B1 but its getting 5years old in a month, should I change it as well? If yes, how much watts would be needed? (its been running around 16900 hours as SMART shows my HDD power on hours)

currently my build is:

Ryzen 7 3700x

HyperX DDR4 2x8GB 3200MHz

AsRock x570 Steel Legend motherboard

1060 6GB

I'd go for the 3070 here, reason being:

  • Performs slightly better than 2080Ti
  • Includes all the extra 3000 series goodies
  • Bang for the buck is definately gonna be the best assuming you can find one for around MSRP/cheaper than 2080ti

As for your PSU, you shouldn't have any issues with this GPU upgrade but in future if you're getting a more powerful CPU, i'd definitley consider upgrading you PSU to a higher wattage.

Welcome!

If you're staying with 1080p 60 FPS the 3060 Ti is plenty of GPU.

If you can find one in stock at MSRP then go for it. I would not pay inflated marketplace/3rd party prices. Stock will eventually start being available and price will normalize.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

3060Ti seems to be the best value. what models are these though?

Not listed I think but it doesnt sound good (since B2 is at tier E and they look similar)

throw that away and get something tier B or better. 550w is enough but you could go higher if prices are right.
