Hi everyone. So, I've got an interesting yet very frustrating problem that i cant seem to fix.

So, i have a custom built pc, intel 3570k, 16gb ram and gtx 970. It was working fine until windows forced an update recently. it installed fine during shutdown, but the next time i started up my pc, it wouldnt boot. i kept getting windows error 0xc00000e, which from what i understand is a corrupt BCD or something beyond my capability to repair. I tried to fix it with some command prompts but no dice.

I then decided just to reinstall W10 via usb to a new SSD. I managed to get all the way to a working windows system, but upon first shutdown or restart, it always just hangs and doesnt actually shut down or restart. ive reinstalled windows about 5 times now, and the problem still persist. If i force shut down by pressing and holding the power button or cutting the power, the next time i try to boot, it just doesnt work. i get past the bios screen but then i get stuck with a black screen.

Are there any troubleshooting things i could do? Im not sure if this is hardware or software related. but im inclined to think its hardware given how old my stuff is.

The actual download, the digital files.

ah. so for the first couple of installs, i used the same windows media creation usb that i originally made. then i decided to redownload a fresh media creation tool and make another usb for the next few installs and they all have the same issue. would this rule out a bad install?
