New Ryzen 5600X build, RAM speed vs inifity fabric vs price.

SonicJ

So here is the deal, looking to build a Ryzen 5 5600x build when prices drop in holland, nothing too fancy, using it to play games mostly(CoD, LoL and SIM-games)

this setup needs to replace my i5 2500k @4.8Ghz

probably going to OC it once i have the better/new GPU

im just stuck on chosing the right RAM-sticks, considering the IF clock speeds and CPU OC.
looking to build this setup, price around 900-1000 euro (1200 dollar/ 850 pound):

CASE: fractal design meshify C
MOBO: MSI B550 A-pro or B550 Aorus elite V2 (changeable)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x

Storage: Samsung evo 970 M.2 1 TB
PSU: MSI MPG A650GF PSU XT
GPU: for now, keeping my GTX960, but planning to upgrade to RX6XXX XT halfway 2021.

Cooler: Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH (optional)
MEM: for RAM, im not sure, i have 2 options listed(Both are listed in the MSI QVL);

G.skill F4-4000C15D-16GVK for 170 euro (150 pound or 206 US dollar) timings CL15-16-16-36
or
G.skill F4-3600C16D-16GVK for 130 euro ( 115 pound or 157 US dollar) timings CL16-19-19-39

both sticks should be samsung B-die

with the 3600 mhz RAM the full build is about 950 euro ( 1150 USdollar / 845 pound)

as far as i know the current BIOS only supports the InfinityFabric to run at 1800, for a 1:1 ratio, 3600C16 would be just fine.
i have read, that its probably possible to run the IF at 2000 mhz (in the future), with the coming bios updates.

how likely is this? also to spend another 40 euro(49 dollar/35 pounds) for just the RAM, to hopefully run the IF at 2000mhz in the future.

or maybe the 4000 mhz just to have a little spare besides the 1800 Mhz clockspeeds on the FCLK

would i benefit a lot too? or with this setup just don't bother?

or is it overal worth the 4000Mhz sticks only for the overclock on the CPU alone?

thank you,

Joren

4000 is not worth it, unless they could get cheap by time? But likely not worth the extra money. DDR5 would be different but then a new motherboard etc.

3200-3600 is more or less the sweet spot.

watched the whole video, he mentioned the 1:1:1 ratio wih the IF on 2000mhz, and his answer is thats its still not - or never will be -  the case.

So i know its not worth much now, but how likely is it possible to run the Infinty Fabric at those speeds since the video does not talk about it very much.

what would be possible benefitital if we are able to run at 2000 Mhz FCLK/IF, not much or a lot?

i want to futureproof my symstem since i use it for about 7 to 9 years
