100 percent cpu usage

Hi i have a question and i need help. i have a i5 9400f and a 3060ti with 16gb of ram and i crenntly get 100 percent cpu usage when i play cod and i get stutters. i think it might be a bottleneck bu this same promvblem was happenig with a 1660 so idk. But curently mos tr of the parts in my computer arte prevuilt parts so idk if thats a promblem. but does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do?

it just the game and my discord using it and even when i close my discord its still is at 100 percent usage

So then it sounds like you're bottlenecking

 

That's not always a bad thing- drop some cpu intensive settings

Shadows, draw distance, chromatic aberration, some others

 

Play with settings and see what brings your performance up

i truned everything down to low on cod and still get 100 percent usage while in a custom lobby

Game just uses a load of CPU then, that's not a bad thing

Just play with settings until you find something that gives you better performance and visual appeal

i get these micro stutter whenever it jumps up to 100 percetn usage though but also it says that its only using like 5 percent of my gpu on task manager

Do you have your video cables plugged into your motherboard or gpu?

what fps are you getting? being CPU bottleneck can produce framepacing issue (as shown by your stutters)

 

if it's adequately high fps, try limiting it to something lower so you have some headroom to prevent stutters

 

ie, game runs at 150fps, limit it to 120fps

 

but to be on the safe side, try DDU and reinstalling graphics drivers, see if that helps

ya i think i get like 150 but cap it at like 80 cause it fluctuates alot and i also reinstalled windows and new drivers

so you did an FPS cap and it still stutters and cpu usage is still 100%?

 

how did you reinstall windows? with a usb stick?

Try a set of older drivers, something sounds kinda goofy in there

I'd expect far more gpu usage

remeber higher detail game settings more gpu usage and less cpu usage.

also 2060ti is very powerful whiel 9400f is not so powerful

ya i capped my fps at 80 and still get stutters and ya i reinstalled with a usb stick and even wiped my drives completely

something is definitely off, check background tasks

9400f is not THAT slow?

ya i set my setting to max to see if that fixed it but it didnt still get 100 percent usage

i think task manger is not accurate casue i downbload msi afterburner and it use like 6o percetn of gpu max on cod max setting with medium ray tracing

But in an instance like COD CW all low settings they still shouldnt be pinned at 100%

could it be my motherboard or no but let me try raytracing on max and see if that does anything
