I need help please.

Go to solution Solved by Middcore,

First, if you're going to ask for assistance, it's good to make the thread title something descriptive that gives some hint of the actual subject. There's like 100 threads a week that just say some variation of "help me."

American Megatrends is a company that develops BIOS firmware for computers, probably the biggest company in that market. You can't switch from one BIOS vendor to another like changing from Goodyear tires to Michelin on a car.

You can look at your laptop's manufacturer's website to see if there is a never version of the BIOS for it you can update too. However, it's highly unlikely they would have enabled a feature like RAM overclocking if it wasn't available before. There's very little room for tweaking things like this on laptops in general usually.

Rather than beat your head against a wall trying to change settings on a laptop for no practical purpose, if you really want to learn more about PC's, how they work, and how to get more performance out of them, I strongly suggest you save up to build a proper desktop system.

Hello there guys, I have a question. Can I change what BIOS my motherboard is on? Because I run American Megatrends and someone told me that that particular BIOS is locked so I can not overclock the ram. I was wondering if i could change to an unlocked bios so i can overclock the ram.
Here is a picture of My BIOS:

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

The model is MSI GF63 8RC.

You can try updating your bios/firmware/drivers from the MSI website and looking up ram oc guides for that laptop model or msi laptops generally
