You can get more performance out of this by adding a 2nd 780 while still staying in the $2000 or going with a single 780 ti, but unless you are going for 2560x1440 it wont really matter since the 780 destroys 1080p.

This is an excellent build. And the OP could even use the remaining money to put towards a 1440p monitor, to truly take advantage of the 780.

If all he's doing is gaming, then the price difference does not justify using an i7. I'd rather see him put that money towards something like a monitor, or a bigger SSD.

The keyboard came with the pc, the monitor is a samsung. Sorry for the lack of details but to me I'd classify them as generic. Any suggestions would be nice by the way.

You have a decent budget which you should use to get a nice display. There's no point spending a good chunk of money on a powerful rig when what you spend all day staring at is a mediocre display.

My recommendations: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3bWa7

Save the extra money for future upgrades.

Thank you all for the recommendations and fast responses you've given. Stepping farther away from console gaming and more towards pc gaming has been fun to say the least. Can't wait to be online, and sorry to add this but I might as well. What if I was wanting to build a pc for both gaming and say video editing for YouTube. Would I be needing more hard drive memory for something like this?

If you're just making gameplay videos, you're perfectly fine with what has been recommended so far.
