Hey guys. I recently installed Ubuntu 13.04 and love every aspect of it except one. :( My Roland quad capture doesn't work.

I still have windows but I would like to use linux for the day to day things as it is much cleaner. So I was wondering what sound cards people could recommend that will work with Ubuntu. I would prefer it to have a front panel connector (not a biggy) and it must work with a mic for skype and so forth.

I have looked into the ASUS Xonar DG but it seems as though the mic port will not work with linux.

Thanks for any help people can give I appreciate it massively. :D

I don't care what everyone else hears so I use onboard for mic and a usb dac.

if you want an all-in-one thing, I'd go with an emu-0404 or 0202

Will work for electronic components and parts

Hmm, how interesting. The website for the audio drivers says that the mic wont work. I don't wan't to use onboard because it sounds like rubbish.

I already have an external DAC that works with windows but not with linux. There is no fix :(

My DAC / Audio interface is a roland quad capture.

do you have pulse audio volume control?

it's pavucontrol in synaptic.

it's how I change the default audio device.
