Settings for AMD

Was watching a LTT video some time ago and Linus said something about not running AMD without making a settings change. I think it was a Windows setting and something to do with power? I feel like it wasn't a BIOS setting. I'm not really sure anymore, but I am making the switch to AMD and want to get the most out of my system. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
