Windows Takes 20-30mins to Boot every time (UPDATE: NDProxy.sys and dxgkrnl.sys not loading multiple times on boot) any fix?

Windows was working fine before and one day it just started doing this, this has happened before but i ended up reinstalling windows to fix it but after months and months it has started again

PC never crashes just always takes 20-30 on the windows loading screen.

 

I'm not sure what to try as windows always seems to work fine for months and then it happens again so any suggestion would be welcomed

Windows 10 Pro (Build 18363)

Ryzen 3800x

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro

Corsair 16GBx2 3466 MHz (CMW32GX4M2C3466C16)

RTX 2070 Super (GIGABYTE)

Sabrent Rocket M.2 1TB (Boot Drive)

Samsung M.2 960 EVO 500GB (Used to be Boot Drive but problem happened on this drive first and then reinstalled windows to other drive)

UPDATES:

 

- Reinstalled windows on my other M.2 drive and still got the problem months later (Same 25mins boot time)

- Still get same problem when booting into safe mode

- Enabled Fast Boot (less driver checks)

- Enabled Windows boot log

Maybe try enabling things like Fast Boot or Hyperthreading in the BIOS? If that doesn't work, reinstalling Windows seems like the best option.

I cant think of any windows module timing out for that long. I am going to assume this has something to do with software you install, this does not happen on a clean install but after you start installing the software you use right?

Yeah, "fast boot" option only reduces amount of devices checked during BIOS initialization, cuts a second or two at tops. I am not sure what disabling "hyperthreading" or in AMD's terms SMT can achieve.

I have enabled Fast boot before and still get the same problem, also reinstalling windows didnt fix the problem i ended up getting same problem months down the line again

yeah im thinking its some kind of software the is getting stuck in windows boot maybe but not sure as yes this does not happen on clean windows install but happens months down the line.

I thought that maybe it could also be a problem with what and how the CPU boots and that maybe SMT could do something against that.

It takes 20-30 mins on the windows logo screen once it shows the login screen it's in Windows to desktop within seconds

Samsung M.2 960 EVO 500GB (Used to be Boot Drive but problem happened on this drive first and then reinstalled windows to other drive)

- Reinstalled windows on my other M.2 drive and still got the problem months later (Same 25mins boot time)

- Going to test to see if booting into safe mode still gives same problem

Scanned for Viruses?

Try booting off a different drive, get windows on a usb or something just to check its not hardware.

Run some ssd benchmarks to make sure nothing is dodgy there.

Loading into safe boot without network also seems to be taking longtime 5-10 mins in and still waiting. Loaded straight into windows boot repair diagontics tho

I'm not sure if your issue is due those drivers. Can you list your installed apps? Your issue might be related to services too.

i looked online and it seem dxgkrnl.sys is to do with DirectX but i think out of the two i looks like NDProxy.sys might be the main problem but when i looked it up its to do with windows and people said not to disable it, i checked my windows folder and the file is there, its not missing "ndproxy.sys" 239 KB (244,736 bytes)

 

i looked in the windows services and i dont see anything ndproxy related

- Scanned with Avast

- Scanned with Malwarebytes

- Run CCleaner Registry scan (This fixed the "RGBFusion\GLCKIO2.sys" NOT_LOADED")

Hi Kazarann,

 

Did you ever resolve this issue? I'm having the same problem.  😕

dxgkrnl.sys successfully loads once, but then Win 10 tries to load it 6 more times and each of those has the "NOT_LOADED" error.

 

Same with NDProxy.sys, it successfully loads once, but then Win 10 tries to load it 4 more times and each of those has the "NOT_LOADED" error.

 

I know this is an old thread but I am hoping someone will see this.
