does windscribe actually increase the internet balance?

if so, does the ISP detect the extra usage after windscribe is turned off?

This seems like a VPN, is that correct?

 

It doesn't affect the amount of internet data you use( i guess maybe it could help a bit with compression, but most traffic won't compress too much), it works like the other vpns.

yeah it is a vpn. says it hides the data usage from the ISP upto 10GB for a free user account

The 10gb is the amount of data you can move across the vpn.

 

Yea it hides the data from your ISP, but a lot of it is already encrypted with HTTPS, and id argue for most uses a vpn isn't needed at home.

A VPN doesn't hide the amount of data you use from the ISP. It still counts as you using 10gb.

If you're unfortunate enough to live in a country where datacaps are used then VPN is not some magic "get more data for free" solution. That 10 GB is indeed the allowed data transfer via the VPN, it'll also be counted towards your ISP datacap because it's going through that connection.

yup. i checked my usage with the ISP and all the used "free data" was still counted
