PC Gets slow when downloading stuff from steam.

So whenever i put to install a game from steam usually it downloads at 100 mbp/s.And my pc just gets really slow, i can see that my cursor is lagging and opening certain stuff is slow.Also happens if i go test my internet speed on https://www.speedtest.net/ it also gets a little bit laggy.Any explanation?

I'm not super familiar with the exact way this works but as far as I know...

 

When you download something your CPU is working to decoding and uncompress the file being transferred over the internet and then sends them to your storage device.

 

^^ this may slow down your computer alittle bit... although it should *not* drag your computer to a halt either... especially with a 3600x. 

 

The only other things I can think of is your storage device. Is it full or getting close to full? Is it an SSD or a mechanical hard drive? 

 

Open up your task manager and see what other programs are open and working in the background. And watch you CPU usage and Temps and your ram and drive usage.

 

^^^ these are not fixes or answers i realize... but they are the 1st steps at troubleshooting... it could be alot of different things...
