Fixing a 3.5mm jack

So I got this 2.1 speaker system that I kinda enjoy using. Since i was using it to supply music to parties most of the time in the past, jack got little bend(bent? not a native english speaker sorry >_>) and it still does work, but it's annoying as hell cuz i have to either hold it or move it in a position to acually work. Jack is connected to a weird box that baisicly is like a volume center and from it i have two input cables that are going inside of my woofer. I know it would probably be time to replace them but i want to have one last good time with them. So will this method acually work? I've tried googling but I figured people around here acually at some point probably tried this so I might as well ask here. Thanks in advance!

What method?

You never did tell...

3.5mm jacks are interchangeable if you know how to solder just cut the jack of solder a new one on from any cheap 3.5 headphones....

There are two wires in there one is left one is right that go to the round connectors on the jack just dont mix left and right you will get sound reversed. And if you do just cut again and solder the other way around.

You can actually buy replacement plugs as well if you want to go this method, they are pretty inexpensive, rather than lopping off ones from headphones unless you have a spare pair lying around. You can even get ones with screw type terminals if you don't solder (though it's not my favorite long term solution). Just need a 3.5mm stereo plug.

Also note there should be 3 connectors if this is a stereo plug, one for left, one for right, the third for ground, the ground is usually wrapped around the other two cables or in the insulation.

Ah yes my bad forgot the ground....

I am usually more focused on not mixing up left and right :D

Where I am from a pair of headphones costs 1 euro cheapest in ear ones.

A 3.5mm jack costs like 2.50 and you have to go to a specialised store.
