Get a 3600 (or X), up the GPU (3060ti)

This would probably gain you more than having 3800x.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

currently i have a 1660 on hand. i will upgrade to a 3060 if they go down in price but they're a bit pricey at the moment. and will do on the cpu front. currently im rocking an r7 2700x my mobo supports it surprisingly just not in dual channel hence the gpu upgrade

3600 have similar performance as 2700x, i would just wait for 5600 (x or non x) if i were you.

getting a zen2 won't be a good choice for you since you already have a good cpu.

1660 to 1660 super is very little boost, just keep it while waiting for 3060.

A custom loop would need like $300+ investment, are you sure you wanna do it?

A CPU and GPU block alone can cost $200, not to mention the fittings which cost from $10 a piece, and you need lots of it.

360 rads cost $50 not including the fans, pipes and reservoir.

That's for a low cost one, the high end will cost significantly more.

With $300 you can afford a 3070 / RX6800, that would double or tripple the performance of your gaming.

Plus a 1660 or 3060 probably won't need water cooling, as the card is not that hot.

But if you wanna do it here's the parts you need:

- CPU and/or GPU block

- Radiator + fans

- water reservoir

- Pump

- Fittings (probably 10+, 2 for each component)

- pipes

I do have most the parts already ive got a $1200+ budget come february. Im literally just waiting on the cpu basically and cooling stuff.  Any recommendations on pipe size? thats the part that has me stumped a bit.

EK waterblocks are one of the good budget solution.

They offer kits so you won't need to buy it separately.

The 300 eur package is pretty good.
