Why is my i9 9900k using 100% ??

But my gpu is using way less ? It’s also getting real hot with a 360 aio cooler , this was only in the menu not even in game ?

I9 9900k , asus TuF 3080 , aourus master mobo , 32 gb Corsair 3600 ram , and the game is horizon zero dawn, thank you

game is actually pretty cpu intensive but it shouldn't be 100%, iirc they used to have this shader optimizers that crashed often on first launch, maybe they kicked it into the background now, see if it improves after 15 minutes or so, as for the temps, if you cpu's drawing like 200w, 90C is acceptable i guess, could be airflow too.

 

See if the game calms down a bit after the shaders are  done optimizing.

What clock speed is it reaching? You might be reaching 100% usage of a throttled speed.
