Advice/help for Monitor Arm for 2nd Ultrawide monitor

Jason 57

Hey everyone.

So I have said it on a couple of other threads, I upgraded my main monitor from a LG 29UB55-29" 21:9 1080p to a Gigabyte 34" 21:9 1440p 144Hz.

I was thinking of getting a VESA arm that I could clamp to my desk and put the 29" above my 34".

I see plenty that can handle widescreen monitors up to 27" and up to 17lbs, but not many for 29" Ultrawide, and have a long enough arm to raise it above the 34".

Would it be better to keep the 34" on it's stand and find a VESA arm tall enough to get the 29" above it,

or get a dual mount that could handle both?

The desk is made from 3/4" plywood, so it should be strong enough to hold a clamp style VESA mount. I keep thinking the stand ones would just fall down on however is at the computer.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Granted I am sure if I do this my wife is going to ask me how bad of an idea it is. LOL
