Why there is no Thunderbolt 49” 5120 x 1440 monitors out there?

Hi everybody! 🙋🏻‍♂️

I am searching for a new monitor. And I love super ultrawide monitors (is that the real category name?).

Any way, I like how thunderbolt allows to have everything connected with a single cable and all the all chaining involved. So my priority is to have a clean setup. I currently work with 3 displays and replacing them with a single 32:9 is “the dream”.

I game casually, but do not expect high fps (but who can say no to a 120hz or higher  display?).  But my main use is work. I do a lot of coding, so a 1440p is my minimum for very crisp text.

Does anybody know if this unicorn 🦄  screen exists? I love how the Odyssey G9 looks, but it is not thunderbolt 😔.

I already know that there are many 21:9 thunderbolts out there, but I am discarding them. (I really want and need that extra screen real state  😜)

also, I wish to future proof as most as possible. So, the better the screen...

Thanks everyone!

Desktop PCs with TB3 are pretty rare.

Given the cost of adding a TB3 chipset to a monitor it makes quite some sense not to include it in a gaming monitor when almost nobody who'd be likely to buy the monitor will have TB3 on their machine.

I agree that thunderbolt might not very useful for a Desktop PC. But in my case I use a Laptop, so it makes more sense there. And with how good Laptops GPUs are getting, just docking them with Thunderbolt in large monitors should become more mainstream.
