Good day people.  I have a strange, albeit very frustrating problem.  Installed an MSI 3080 Gaming X into my system, 9700K @ 5.1ghz AC,  32gb of 3200mhz, all nvme storage, 850 watt gold, and last night it was awesome.  155 fps in Warzone and 120 in Cyberpunk with Ray Tracing on.

Cut to today.  15 fps in Warzone, 9 fps in BL3, 12 fps in Wildlands, 18 fps in Fortnite.  Still 120 fps in Cyberpunk, 166 fps in Star Wars Fallen Order, 145 fps in Far Cry 5, 210 fps in Furmark 1440p, 220 fps in Heaven.  In programs that work, GPU usage at 99% to 100%.  Programs that don't work, GPU usage at 5%.

Latest 460.89 nVidia drivers.  Tried rolling those back, tried rolling Windows updates back.  Tried re installing the card.  Hopefully one of you who is smarter than me can help.  TIA.

you could try a full DDU un-install and re-install of the graphics drivers. You may also need to find the old settings files from these games that aren't working for you and delete them to force the game to generate a fresh one, could be an old setting from a previous card causing funny business. Do you have your integrated gpu disabled, if not try that as well (maybe even DDU those drivers to be safe).

It may seem like I'm just suggesting throwing stuff at the wall until something sticks, and that's because I am. Unfortunately with behavior like this it isn't always apparent what's causing it. Since it's not a problem across the board I hesitate to blame any hardware, seems like some sort of settings or software glitch. Out of curiosity what does your cpu load look like in those games?

So thanks to a thread on here from XilentXLee, I figured it out.  MSI Dragon Center.  Get rid of it.  Immediately.  All my problems went away as soon as I followed the advice on that thread and got rid of that stupid Dragon Center.  I only needed it briefly anyways to change the RGB on my new 3080.  Thanks to all involved.
