Is the GTX 1650 Super a good placeholder card until I can get a 6800xt?

GamingSeargent

Hey, wondering if it is a good idea to get a GTX 1650 Super as a place holder card for a 6800xt, when I manage to get one down the line?

Ryzen 5 3600

MSI B550 Tomahawk

16GB 3600mHz Trident Z RGB

1650 Super

Fractal Design Meshify C

Samsung 970 Evo 1TB

It is but going by the specs in your sig both the 1650 and the 6800xt will be heavily bottlenecked.

CPU: Intel Core i3-4310 @ 3.40 GHz

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400

Ram: 1x4GB 800MHz DDR3

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

New build, that is my current / old system. The new one will be:

Ryzen 5 3600

RX 6800XT

2x8GB 3600MHz Ram

Samsung 970 Evo

MSI b550 Tomahawk

and a few other parts but they are the main ones

Thanks for your concern though

No problem. In that case the 1650 is a good placeholder card.

Definitely good. You could also consider a cheaper 2600 Ryzen and go for the 1660 Super with the what you save. In any case, all good.

Ill stick with the ryzen 5 3600, as the 1650 super is only a temporary card until I can get a rx 6800xt!

I'm rocking a R5-3600 with RTX3070, and CPU is bottlenecking GPU in CP2077 1080P. I would suggest to go with R5-5600X or Intel

Im gonna play at 1440p mostly, so it will be more GPU bound

Personally if I'm paying that price range (around USD 700), I'll take a RTX3080 with better feature set (i.e. RTS and DLSS) and minor to none performance penalty at traditional rendering.
