Hey! I’ve had my current PC for around 2years and 6months now, I wanted to upgrade it a lil but not sure what to do, I’ve had my dual monitor setup for a few months now and noticed a little strain on my computer when playing certain games, sometimes I’m needing to close my google chrome for a lil more fps. I’m thinking maybe another 16 GB of RAM would help for a while until I can afford a new GPU, any help is greatly appreciated!

current build:

1060 6GB

i7 7700k

Corsair Vengeance 2400MHz 16 GB RAM

Z170 motherboard

500 GB M2 SSD

1 TB SSD

many thanks,

Nug Nug

can i get a screenshot of task manager while gaming and running your usual programs?

It’s currently 5am but I will tomorrow! I usually just have my game and discord open. If I have my google chrome open I know within minutes if I’m mid game. Someone recommended overclocking my CPU, is that something you would recommend?

no overclocking wouldn't help, it might improve fps but not multitasking as that is what you want.

where do you live? i am in india and it is 11:10am here

Ahhh okay! I would like some more FPS but I looked into overclocking and it scared me off. And yes! I want it more for multitasking, it’s frustrating having only just my game and discord open. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, if it helps you more I can take screenshots of my task manager when playing my choice of games? Appreciate the reply/help!

Currently, Call of duty/warzone, Valorant, GTA and occasionally minecraft with friends. Those are my “main games” it’s a force of habit but I do put “low” graphics/setting etc when gaming for more FPS

with war zone you need to run 32gb ram as it can use up to 13.5gb of ram so then your system is running on 2.5 and everything else im on WZ all the time and had to jump to 32 from 16gb also i dont know if you know who thinnd is he has a youtube vid with all the grafics settings that gets your frames up and also looks realy good in WZ heres the link
