Budget (including currency): ~$1200-$1400

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Stock Trading

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Ok so my friend asked me to build him a pc for stock trading. he just gave me his credit card and was like," Go build me something good." And so me, being the go-getter that I am, told him sure. So I did a quick google search, and got some recommended specs for a stock trading system. And then I got to work. So far, here are my peripherals:

Motherboard: Gigabyte A520I AC

RAM: TEAMGROUP Elite DDR4 64GB Kit (2 x 32GB) 3200MHz (PC4-25600) CL22 Unbuffered

Storage: Silicon Power 1TB - NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 TLC SSD

Case: Fractal Design Define Nano S

Graphics Card: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 5500 XT

Processor: Ryzen 9 3900 X w/ stock cooler (Still coming in the mail)

PSU: EVGA Supernova 550 GM (550 W) 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular

He plans on connecting 4 27" monitors to have as many windows open and visible as possible.

With the all the parts we have, we're nearing $1500 USD. My question is, is the power supply that I have (EVGA 550 W) enough for the computer if all he is going to do is stock trading? Keep in mind, this is my first time building a pc, so I apologize if the parts chosen are a little wonky.

In short, yes. It is a good quality PSU and 550W is enough. That said as it is an SFX PSU so you may have issues with cable length in the case, hopefully not though.

If possible I would go for this instead:

Personally I would change the motherboard and RAM as well.

Better VRM performance which matters for a 3900x, and it will support 3rd gen Ryzen out of the box.

MUCH lower latency memory. The CL22 kit you chose is atrocious.

Thank you! It's great to be here. I was always reluctant to join as I had never built a pc before nor could I afford to build one, however, considering it's for someone else and I don't want to mess up , I thought I might as well hop on for the first time. I'll definitely take into account the suggested replacement parts, however, I will have to consult him before as we have already gone above his target budget. Otherwise, thank you so much for the recommendations and the information!

No problem, honestly if you can swap the PSU at no cost it is worth it, it is also cheaper, and the memory while more is worth the swap. Motherboard is fine.

Glad you decided to join the forum! You don't have to own a PC even just to discuss or learn new info, this is a great community to learn from!
