MSI x570 gaming edge wifi cpu debug led

Almartmart

Hi all!

It's my first post here, and I really need your help. Excuse my english as I'm not a native speaker 😔

I've spent the last month buying different components due to Black Friday, Cyber Monday...

Finally, yesterday I got the last one, so I decided to build my computer.

The components are:

-MSI x570 Gaming Edge Wifi

-AMD Ryzen 5900X

-Be Quiet Dark Rock 4

-Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x16GB 3200MHZ

-Sabrent Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD 1TB

-Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD

-Corsair RM750 750W 80+ Gold Full Modular

-PNY GeForce RTX 3080 XLR8 Gaming

-BitFenix Nova Mesh TG 4RGB

After getting everything ready, I turned it on, and the red cpu debug led turned on on the motherboard, and I get a black screen. Even thou I checked every conexion, the light wouldn't turn off, so I decided to dismount it and go for a minimal builds so I could test it easier.

This minimal build consists of:

-Motherboard

-Ram sticks

-M.2

-"Power, Reset, ..." conexion from the computer case so I can turn on the system

-PSU with only the ATX 24-pin cable, and the CPU 8-pin cable

-CPU

-CPU fan (as I read on the Internet that the led could be on if the CPU fan was not connected.

Just to clarify the not heatsink on, I'm turning it on and off for a few seconds to check if the is LED is stil turning on.

I'm afraid of three facts.

Nº1: the PSU is defective

Nº2: I'm missing to connect something. I'm not using both the 8x and the 4x CPU conexion on the motherboard, as I read it was enough with just the 8 pin one.

Nº3: the motherboard is defective (as I also read few people who had this same problem).

I would really appreciate your help, as I am quite desperate. I've build a few computers, and I really think that I made no mistake on this build, but I'm also afraid of that.

I can provide any other information that you need.

Much thanks in advance!

So what are the steps to do that? I'm new to BIOS updates as I never had to do it.

It's better to turn to some youtube videos on this.

I'm probably not qualified to teach someone else.

and there already are enough probably.

I mean, I would like to know just the guidelines of it. Did you used a CPU to update it or just the bare motherboard?

my motherboard has a GIGABYTE specific technology to make it easier.

so I don't know about msi boards.

again, you're better off checking other peoples guidelines.
