Ever Since I installed a GTX 295 into my PC, the audio stopped working. I played around with it a little bit, and it seems that the hdmi output on the graphics card doesn't work. I later found out that sound seems to be working out of the hdmi output on the integrated APU graphics. I even did a fresh install of windows, which did nothing. If someone can please help me I would really appreciate it as I am really frustrated at this problem.

My PC Specs if you need them;

GPU: GTX 295

CPU: AMD 5400k

RAM: 4GB Crucial ddr3

Mobo: F2A88XM-D3H

Thanks in advance for all the help. :)

If you go to

Control Panel

Hardware and sound

Sound

It should show your playback devices, make sure you untick show disabled devices.

Also, what are you using as your audio interface?

3.5mm, HDMI?

ok. just looked up your motherboard.

you have realtec-based audio onboard

can you open the Realtek HD Audio Manager? it should be a speaker icon in the system tray or u can access it through control panel

once you open it, you should see a window with a number of tabs along the top.

mine says "digital output" and "speakers". yours will vary.

click on the "speakers" tab and click on the "set default device"

if that a go

My Headphones are already set as default. If I plug them into the back I/O it calls them speakers and sets them as default, so it is definitely recognising them.

HD audio azalia device was on auto, so I force enabled it and it still didn't work.

in ur audio panel...see if there is any option to test the speakers...see if any sound is coming or not....and if not then go into the device manager in control panel and select sound and audio devices and click on properties...see what is says is ur device working properly or not...
