Talking About GPU, im pick the Zotac GTX 1660 Ti for 4.020.000 IDR (284,87 USD), but many of my friends suggest me to add some cash for Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT at 4.475.000 IDR (317,09 USD). What's your opinion?

What resolution are you using?

so, here i got two options:

- AMD Ryzen 5 2600X (2.349.000 IDR, around 166,38 USD) with ASRock B450M Steel Legend (1.525.000 IDR, around 108,01 USD) or,

- Intel Core i5 10400F ( 2.180.000 IDR, around 154,42 USD) with ASRock B460M Pro 4 (1.440.000 IDR, around 102,00 USD)

which one is better? because they're priced pretty close here :|

For gaming the i5 10400 is a bit better (not much), but if you want a better upgrade path with more potential and features get the R5 2600x, Steel Legend is a good motherboard as well.

There is not much of upgrades to be done. Most probably support for the next gen of Ryzen processors will be dropped. A processor generally does not need to be upgraded for 4-5 years. The money will be better spent in upgrading the graphics card.

I would prefer Intel if they're still use LGA1200 on the next 11th gen :(

and looks like they're more simple to use rather than AMD ( because i can't do overclock  🤣)

but i'm still prefer AMD for better support with latest CPU'S (for my upcoming upgrades in future :) )

thanks!!

Not worth buying the 2600x of you intend on upgrading to a 5000 anyway. Net loss. I agree with your other post.

There will really be no point in upgrading CPUs for gaming in the future unless you buy a really high end GPU. It always is better to get a better GPU unless you have a really ancient CPU. You will not need to worry about CPU upgrades for 5 years at least. By that point you will need a new motherboard whichever platform you go with.

If you can't overclock, then a 5600X and a cheap B550 motherboard would be FAR superior in performance per dollar spent, and should be remarkably close in price to the Intel.

If you aren't upgrading for some time (by which you'll want to upgrade everything anyway) then just get the cheaper one

If you can't get the 5600x and really want to get AMD then you can wait for a month. There is an AMD announcement on 12th January. It could be the Ryzen 3 5000 series. But you will most probably be not getting those new products till a month or two after due to shortages. Or else you can get the 10400f....

how about Ryzen 3 3300X? here they priced at 2.350.000 IDR (166,54 USD).

Looks like i'm forgot to tell what's my PC gonna use for 🤣 i'm gonna use it for Web browsing, Microsoft Office's apps like word and power point, sometimes video editing with Filmora 9 Free Plan, and maybe some light gaming? (my brother playing Minecraft, PUBG Lite, CS:GO, Apex Legends, Valorant, and Nox Player).

The Ryzen 3s are four cores. I personally do not like 4 cores as most of the apps and games nowadays are utilizing more cores than before. If he is playing these light games and you are just web browsing then you can surely go with the Ryzen 3. But, if in the future you have to do something more intensive then you will most probably need an upgrade.

Select Motherboard vendors will provide beta bios for select B450 motherboards, in this case it is likely you can upgrade to the 5600X in the future.

There's 2 gens to move up to already, that's pretty significant. Not everyone buys the latest and greatest, OP could have the option to pickup a used 5600x in a few years time for cheap, which would be a good a very good CPU upgrade. Plus CPU and RAM OC support unlike the Intel B460.

Oh I forgot to take in account the Ram OC. Yeah AMD will be better now
