Is my PSU good enough ?

Sourcez

I'm building my a new computer and the specs look like that so far:

CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
GPU : AMD Radeon RX 5700XT sapphire pulse
RAM : 2 x 8 GB 3000 mhz Hyperx Fury RGB
STORAGE :1 TB HDD / ssd 480gb
MOBO : b450m steel legend
WC: Watercooler Cooler Master ML240RG

I bought a super flower leadex III 550w. Is it enough to run everything or should i look for a 650w?
Thanks in advice

Depends on what you are planning to do in the future, like in a few years and how many PSUs you want to buy.

Getting a 550w PSU now building a new system is almost like throwing money away unless you plan on staying at the low end of things for the next 5-7 years.

Even 650W is getting to the point of being a waste now depending. (I wouldn't personally buy anything less than 750W PSU now)

With the new hardware and the high end GPUs and CPUs a 750W PSU would be the min, and that is cutting it close depending.

The point is with a 550W, or even a 650W PSU after just one hardware upgrade wouldn't be enough depending.

I barely have spare time to play, so I will keep the same config for the next 5 years. I also don't plan to OC, so in my case 550w is enough? Thanks

It's fine for what you have NOW and if you have no plans to upgrade and stick to THAT plan.

However if you change your mind then you will have buy a new PSU with the upgrade so that will add to the cost of anything you would do.

Reason why I NEVER recommend going with the min PSU for a new machine, it leaves no options without undo added cost that could have been avoided.

It is YOUR money and YOUR choice in the end.
