Using Lightroom on more than one computer

Hey guys. A couple weeks ago I purchased a Synology NAS to manage all of my unedited photos. I primarily use my desktop computer to edit photos on Adobe Lightroom, but aside from published photo albums and Adobe Photoshop projects, I store the bulk of my unedited photos on the NAS. I also edit from time to time on my laptop. I was wondering what's the best way to use Lightroom when I'm away from my desktop (i.e. when I'm traveling). Thanks y'all.

I typically RDP into my desktop when I want to edit remotely. (I use LR classic)

It's not too bad. Sharing your catalog on more than one PC is something they haven't supported.

You can do it in the new Lightroom their Creative Cloud, but I haven't touched that since it launched.

Using an RDP could work. I refuse to use Adobe's cloud storage solution (or any cloud storage solution for that matter).

I have a "work in progress" directory that includes a dedicated catalog and that I sync between my desktop and laptop. Once done I open my "archive" catalog and "import from another catalog" selecting the working one and import the folders I'm done with then move the actual file folder from within.

Why? If your NAS goes then everything goes. First rule of data retention is have a backup. Second is to have said backup offsite.

Mostly I try avoiding subscription based purchases whenever I can. I might invest in another NAS down the line and keep it at a family's house or something like that.
