Should I cpu upgrade?

Hi all my current cpu is the ryzen 5 3600 with b450 mobo. Im planning to upgrade my gpu to an rtx 3080. My question is should I just upgrade to 3070 and buy an 5600x ryzen? my current gpu is amd rx 570 4gb

Wait before anything, what is your current monitor resolution/refresh rate, and what kind of games?

You CPU should be fine for 120+fps gaming, can always upgrade if it struggles in X game

The 3070 should be fine for the most part at like medium-high settings, even more so if you're going to do ray tracing. Don't know if Cyberpunk will have DLSS.

 

If not ray tracing, the 6900XT might cause some price shifting anyways, so maybe see what that does, depending on if there's still no stock for anything high end.

Your CPU is fine, it shouldn't bottleneck even a 3080 to any significant degree, yes you might gte some more out of it with a 5900x but upgrading from a rx570 to a rtx3080 will be massive! Are the few frames you gain worth the huge price tag of a new CPU??

 

The real problem will be getting a 3080.

 

Also just out of interest what b450 mobo?
