Wifi adapter not being detected in virtual box

I want  to learn penetration testing. So nus on a vm and am following a course. But i cant seem to make my wifi adapter work with the vm. 

I dont now what kind of info you'd need to diagnose such a problem so please do ask. 

Cpu 3400g

Running window 10

Latest virtual box 

Custom kali Linux 

Belkin n300 usb wifi adapter

By going to the devices tab, yeah i did it it's still not being picked up

If it's a USB adapter you can make a USB filter to have the adapter show up, then install the relevant driver if needed within Linux.
