can i conect an 8 pin to a 4 pin cpu header? z490

i cant find a psu in my country that has a 4 pin and an 8 pin for the motherboard i want to buy the motherboard has a 8 pin and a 4 pin for the cpu

The 8pin is just 4+4pin.

Technically, some custom aftermarket cables may have them in one 8pin housing to look neater but they still fit into 4pin headers. 

It's standard for the the 8pin to be made up of 4+4pin.

When buying a psu, you can expect the end of the cable to be 4pin connectors. You can plug those into 4pin or 8pin headers on the motherboard.

I would also like to note that the additional 4 pins are not required for the PC to function and when you're not using a super demanding CPU like a Threadripper or high core count i9, you won't get any advantage

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
