1440p GPU recommendation

Hey guys, 

I am currently planning a gaming system for a friend of mine. It should be able to play games at 1440p at 144fps. The budget for the whole system is abotu 1500€, so i  was guessing a 3070 should be fine. For a CPU I think I will take a R5 5600x. As far as I know, Raytracing will not be important (at least for now), so the new amd GPUs are also an option. I know that the 6800 is a lot better than the 3070, but its also more expensive.
What GPU would you pick for 1440p 144Hz?

I think the 3070 is a great buy.
