Compressor/Limiter for Windows 10?

MS-DOS

Im trying to hear a podcast and the host has his mic loud but the guests have the mics quiet and it's so annoying. How can I add a limiter to the sound so the audio is normalized? I've downloaded Equalizer APO and I was going to use an VST but it doesn't work, the settings of this program are ignored. Im using Realtek onboard audio on a x570.

Are you able to download the podcast? If so you can get Audacity (free) and compress it. I would suggest trying to get the most boost via compression and not the limiter. However this depends on the style of the recording.

That's too annoying man. I just want to do it on the fly. Looks like the onboard Realtek had a normalizer however im still interested to have a software because I want to buy a motu m4.

Can you stream it through VLC? VLC is usually pretty friendly with streaming audio and you can normalise through that, as for the M4, it's a decent interface but not at that price. There are better options.

UMC202HD or Scarlett 2i2 serve essentially the same purpose for much less money.
