One ram stick not getting detected

Faust1nho

I got a new pc few days ago and i wanted to put ram frequency to 3200 but it didnt work and i had to go back to 2133. Then I tried doing 2666 and it worked. After that I tried to use 2933 and the pc wouln't give any signal the fans would start spinning and rbg would turn on. I took out the cmos battery and the pc would start giving me beep codes. So I tried to turn the pc on with one ram stick at the time and one of the sticks worked but when i put the other one it would say no signal or bios wouldn't recognise 2nd ram stick. And now only one of the ram sticks is being detected so I don't know what is the problem so please help.

pc spechs:

cpu: ryzen 5 2600

mobo: Asus tuf gaming b450m- plus gaming

gpu: rx 5600xt

ram: G.skill aegis 3200mhz 2x8

Can you test the 2nd stick that is giving you problems in another system or a friends PC?

That's the only other option I would think of to see if this RAM stick is indeed the problem you are having.

There is a possibility of that RAM module no longer working. How did you set the frequencies (manually?) and did you adjust the voltages of the RAM?

I've just turned on the D.O.C.P and it turned everything how it should be. Then when i saved and restarded bios said to change it back. I did it again but changed frequency to 2666 and it worked I went back to bios and changed it to 2933. Then i saved and  pc turned off. I had to take cmos battery out. I put one of my ram sticks in and it worked but when i put my other ram stick it doesn't get detected. I changed their places 2nd ram stick doesn't get detected.

Sounds as if the RAM stick is defective or broken.

So hello again. That ram stick was broken and I refunded it. Should I try changing the frequency now? Im kinda scared that it will break again.

Can you just try using the DOCP profile instead of adjusting them manually?

So these are two separate sticks and not a kit? BIOS should still try out the DOCP profile after saving and booting a couple time to see if the RAM will be compatible or not. Otherwise, it would completely fail and set them back to stock JEDEC specs.

So hello again. I haven't tried to change the frequency yet. So if I try to change the frequency and if bios asks be to restart it I should just wait?

Well you should restart and wait for the system to boot (it can take multiple boots before getting the correct settings that is friendly with the BIOS).
