980Ti will perform well until you get the 3080.  Tho look at the AMD offerings well, especially if you're going productivity, which your 64GB of RAM would imply.

Recently looking into purchasing a pc, got everything mainly picked out just planning on using my 980ti gpu until I am able to get a 3080 for a reasonable price. However I am very confused as to if Ram not Vram, but if to much ram will make my gpu bog down. Considering I will have up to date i9 with 64g of ram, however using the older gpu. Might be a rather silly question, but I can not find any information on something like this? Please help lol

VRAM is for GPU and RAM for CPU, unless you run out of VRAM it will not use any RAM nor does.it care anyway because it.still has to "ask" the CPU.for.it
