Hey everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my pc so I can play Cyberpunk 2077 when I take some time off next year (February) on some decent settings.

My desktop is already a little old (5y) and is mainly used to do statistical analyses for which it is still okay. I currently have the following system:

PC Case: Sharkoon VS3-S ATX gamer
CPUs: Intel Core i7 4790K PC1150 8MB Cache 4GHz retail
MB: MB Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3
RAM: 16GB DDR3 Crucial PC3-12800 1600Mhz
Nvidia Geforce KFA2 GTX970 EX OC 4GB Black Edition 2xDVI/HDMI/DP DDR5
Hard Drive:: 2TB SATA3 DT01ACA200 7200 64mb HDD van Toshiba
SSD: 120GB Kingston SATAIII V300 SS
Cooling fan: Cooler Master Hyper 103 CPU
power : CoolerMaster 750 watt G750M modulair (80+)

I was mainly thinking about changing graphics card to RTX 20 or 30 series. however I'm not certain if other components (MB / Power supply) are good enough.

Additionally if I had some budget left, I was thinking of adding a larger SSD.

Any advice would be welcome.

i would get a gpu, a psu and a ssd.

Getting a new graphics card, SSD and PSU sounds like a good plan.

GPU: I'd look for either an RTX 3070 or an RX 6800, depending on availability and pricing for you locally. If these end up being too expensive, I'd probably wait for the rumoured 3060Ti, unless AMD has something better in time in the same ~$400 price class.

SSD: The 1TB 970 EVO looks to be available for a great price.

PSU: Going by prices on PCPP again, my two picks would either be the Bitfenix Whisper M 650W or as a cheaper, non-modular alternative, the Bitfenix Formula Gold 650W.
